Flowers That Attract Hummingbirds

Humming Bird and FlowerMany different types of flowers, shrubs, and vines attract hummingbirds. They especially like anything red (they'll even check out your red laundry hanging out to dry) and pink or fuchsia. They also prefer flowers that have a tubular or trumpet shape. They are able to get nectar from plants that other pollinators can't reach. In addition to planting flowers that attract hummingbirds be sure to provide them with a feeder or two. They also need fresh water but they don't like birdbaths like other birds. They prefer a stream or spray of water or a very shallow dish. Below is a list of plants known to attract hummers.
